What Does Twitch Advertising Cost? A Real Breakdown
By Marcell Dechant · Chief Executive Officer
Ask what Twitch advertising costs and the honest answer is: it depends on which of three doors you walk through. Official Twitch ads, negotiated sponsorships, and automated in-stream campaigns sit at very different price points. More importantly, they differ in what you can actually prove you paid for — and that, not the sticker price, is what makes or breaks a Twitch advertising cost calculation.
The three ways to advertise on Twitch
Official Twitch ads are video spots (pre-rolls and mid-rolls) booked through Twitch's sales channel and Amazon Ads, priced by CPM, the cost per 1,000 impressions. This route is built for media agencies and larger budgets; for smaller brands the entry ticket is often simply too expensive.
Sponsorships with individual streamers are negotiated one by one. Prices range from free products for small channels to five-figure fees per stream for well-known faces. The real problem is not the price but comparability: every deal is different, reach is frequently estimated rather than measured, and each channel adds coordination overhead.
In-stream ads are the third route: banners or chat messages delivered as an overlay inside the stream image across many channels at once. We break down how the format works in our in-stream ads explainer. Billing is CPM-based and counts only verified impressions from streams that were actually live.
How to calculate a Twitch budget
The math is identical for every CPM model: budget divided by CPM, times 1,000, equals impressions. A quick example: at a 15-euro CPM, a 1,500-euro budget buys exactly 100,000 impressions. At a 25-euro CPM, the same money buys 60,000.
Whether that budget is well spent comes down to three questions:
- Is every impression verified? An impression should only count when the stream was live and had viewers. With package prices and estimates, you also pay for empty seats.
- How precise is the targeting? Industry exclusions and topical selection determine how much waste is baked into the price.
- Can you start small? A test budget with clean reporting tells you more than any forecast.
What it costs on our platform
Printed price lists go stale, so we won't publish one here. Our current CPM rates and the live available reach are shown transparently on the advertiser page, pulled straight from the platform instead of a media-kit PDF. Campaigns are self-service: you set the budget and can pause at any time.
The price is only half the equation
The Twitch advertising cost question is easy to answer once a CPM is on the table. The better question is what that CPM includes: verified visibility inside the stream image, reporting you can audit, and the freedom to test with a small budget. Check those three points and you are comparing offers on equal footing, not just lining up numbers.
