How do I get Twitch sponsorships? Few questions come up more often in streamer communities, and few get answered with more half-knowledge. Time for an honest inventory: there are three routes to sponsorship income, and which one fits depends almost entirely on your channel size and your patience for outreach.
Route 1: pitching brands directly
The classic route: build a media kit with your channel stats, find brands that fit your content, and write to them. It works, but success rates are low while your channel is small. Brands receive plenty of these pitches, and without substantial reach your email is quickly archived.
Direct outreach becomes realistic from mid-size upward, with stable triple-digit viewer counts and a clearly defined niche. Until then, the per-deal effort is high, the outcome uncertain, and every hour spent pitching is an hour not spent streaming.
Route 2: agencies and influencer networks
Agencies broker between brands and creators for a commission. For larger channels they can remove the outreach burden entirely. For small channels the door is usually closed: agencies earn on closed deals, and small reach rarely pays their bills. If you do get signed, read the contract carefully — especially exclusivity clauses that can block other income sources.
Route 3: automated in-stream sponsorship
The third route flips the logic: instead of you chasing brands, the brand books a network of many channels and technology distributes the campaigns. You set up an overlay in OBS once; after that, ads run automatically in your stream and you earn per verified impression. Why brands deliberately book many small channels is covered in our piece on small streamer sponsorships.
The decisive difference: there is no applying to individual brands and no follower minimum that filters you out. On our platform you can take part from about 5 average viewers. In exchange, per-stream earnings start modest and grow with your audience, without the upward negotiating room of a direct deal.
Which route for whom?
- Under 50 average viewers: Automation is practically the only route that pays. Direct outreach costs more than it returns.
- 50 to a few hundred viewers: Combine. Automated income as the base, plus first direct deals with brands from your niche.
- Above that: Direct deals and agencies become attractive; automation stays useful as a passive baseline.
Whichever route you take: disclose ads properly, because nothing ends a brand relationship faster than a compliance incident. And budget soberly — the Twitch earnings calculator shows what is realistic at your numbers, using our platform's actual rates.
